Nifty review
Nifty is the plain-text archive at nifty.org/nifty. No ratings, no app, decades of stories. The interface is 1996 on purpose.
Nifty homepage above the fold, captured October 2026.
The same Nifty homepage after scrolling, where the recommendation rows and ad slots actually sit.
A Nifty category index. Directory listings of text files, which is the entire product.Nifty is not competing with Lush Stories. It is a directory of HTML and text files, sorted into categories that have been there long enough to have their own culture, especially queer fiction that predates modern erotic sites. There is no rating, no algorithm, and almost no chrome. You click a folder, then a file.
That is either a relief or unusable. If you need a score to tell you what to read, go to Literotica or StoriesOnline. If you want the old archive and you can tolerate a title list, Nifty is still the place those files live. The lack of ads is the luxury. The lack of search is the cost.
Bookmark nifty.org/nifty, not a fan site that iframes it with popups. The archive is the files. Anyone wrapping it in a 'better reader' is usually selling ads on top of someone else's text.
How it works
- Open /nifty/ and pick a category folder.
- Stories are pages or text files. There is no player and no account.
- Authors are in the file headers, not in a follow button.
- Use the browser find box. The site will not build you a search product.
Pricing
Free, and unusually free of a membership funnel. If a Nifty page asks for a card, you are not on Nifty.
Pros
- Deep, old archive
- Almost no ads
- No account
- Category folders are stable
Cons
- No ratings
- No real search
- Looks abandoned even when the files are there
- You have to read titles blind
Safety
www.nifty.org. Plain text can still describe anything, including things this directory will not help you find off the page. Stay on the official host. Do not trust a 'Nifty app.'
Questions
Is Nifty still online?
nifty.org/nifty still serves the category directories. It is not a redesigned site. The files are the update.
Is Nifty free?
Yes. No account, no premium.
How do I search Nifty?
Poorly, on purpose. Use the folder that matches the category, then the browser's find. For a search box, use Literotica.
Is there an official app?
No. The site is a file tree.
What site is like Nifty?
literotica, lushstories, chyoa sit in the same sex stories sites aisle. Read those reviews before you pay twice.
